The "Jonah and the Whale" theme in Fine Art
Michelangelo painted this fresco depicting the Biblical story of Jonah and the Whale on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. It is just one of many images he created on the walls and ceiling of this papal chapel.
Carlo Antonio Tavella (Milan 1668-1738 Genoa) "A Stormy Seascape" - Tavella was also in Milan, like Jan Brueghel I who was there in the 1590s.
